Results: Premier & First Division Football
Footballers in both the Premier Division and First Division were in action this weekend, with the Somerset Trojans, Hamilton Parish, Young Men Social Club, Wolves, and Southampton Rangers all earning wins.
Premier Division
Paget Lions 1 – Somerset Trojans 2
At the Southampton Oval, the Somerset Trojans kept their survival in the Premier Division with a 2 – 1 win over the Paget Lions.
After a scoreless first half, Jaden Ratteray Smith gave the Somerset Trojans the lead in the 54th minute, but Julian Carpenter equalized for the Paget Lions. The Somerset Trojans would go back in front in the 80th minute when Keezai Cann found the back of the net, and that goal proved to be the winner.
Hamilton Parish 7 – X-Road’s 0
Hamilton Parish defeated relegated X-Road’s 7 – 0 at the Wellington Oval.
Hamilton Parish got hat-tricks from Justin Bell, and Leroy Lewis, with Aidan Peets adding the other.
Young Men Social Club 5 – Devonshire Cougars 3
At the Police Field, Young Men Social Club defeated the Devonshire Cougars 5 – 3.
David Jones Jr would lead Young Men Social Club to victory with a hat-trick, while Ryan Parris, and Kelvon Butterfield both added a goal each, while Domico Coddington scored twice for the Devonshire Cougars, with Elisha Darrell adding the other.
First Division
Wolves 7 Somerset Eagles 1
Wolves moved with one point behind second-place Robin Hood with a game to play.
Morricko Iris would score a hat-trick to lead Wolves to victory, they would also get two own goals to go along with single strikes from Lamelle Paynter and James Hayeem, while Nathan Rego scored the lone goal for the Somerset Eagles.
Southampton Rangers 3 Ireland Rangers 0
The First Division match between Southampton Rangers and Ireland Rangers was not played due to Ireland Rangers not being able to field a team resulting them forfeiting the match.
