News that Bengt and Brigitta Nygren donated $500,000 to the Bermuda Hospitals Board, Shawnae Brangman earned the Public Service Excellence Award for January, Kennette Burgess was named a 40 Under 40 honouree, the Bermuda Centre for Creative Learning’s February Freeze raised $6,300, and One Communications employees volunteered with Meals on Wheels throughout February were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Sakari Famous was crowned the 2024 Southland Conference Indoor track and field women’s high jump champion, Rockal Evans helped Black Magic win in Australia, Jasmine Spence scored for Newport Pagnell Town Women, the Bermuda Literary Awards winners were announced, Fidelis Insurance Holdings announced a partnership with Whitney Institute Middle School, the Bermuda Police Service promoted Dennis Astwood, Sherwin Joseph, and Jerome Laws to the rank of Superintendent of Police, and Kameron Young is getting set to lead interviews in a webinar series.
