Sun Life Sponsors Luminaria Ceremony
Sun Life International stepped up as the proud sponsor of the Luminaria Ceremony for the 11th Annual Relay For Life, a tribute honouring those affected by cancer.
A spokesperson said, “Relay For Life of Bermuda is thrilled to announce Sun Life International as the proud sponsor of our Luminaria Ceremony for the 11th Annual event. This meaningful ceremony, held annually during Relay, serves as a poignant tribute of remembrance and hope for all those affected by cancer.
“This sponsorship continues our tradition of contributing to the health and well-being of the communities where we live and work,” said Donna Cotter, CEO of Sun Life International.
“The causes we support represent who we are as a company. Once again, we’ll be sponsoring the Luminaria Ceremony honouring the memory of our dear colleague, Millie Minors and all our employees and loved ones who courageously battled cancer.”
The spokesperson said, “Set to take place on Friday, May 10th at 9:00 pm at the North Field National Sports Centre. As darkness falls on the field, attendees will share a deeply emotional moment as each Luminaria is illuminated around the track, symbolizing lives touched by cancer. It’s a time of unity and reflection as survivors, participants, and supporters walk the track, enveloped in silence and surrounded by messages of love and hope.

Purchase a Luminaria bag for a minimum donation of $10 at bermudarelay.bm, Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre, or from participating teams. Customize your bag with a personal message and decorate it yourself or have Relay volunteers do it for you.
“Don’t forget: registered teams can also use Luminaria bags as a fundraiser, adding an extra layer of meaning to your Relay experience.
“Bags must be returned to Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre or directly to North Field by Wednesday, May 8th, at 5 pm or Friday, May 10th, between 10 am and 8 pm.
“On the field, volunteers will place the luminarias around the track, creating a beautiful and inspiring scene that will remain until dawn.
