BUEI To Present ‘They Shot The Piano Player’
BUEI Films is set to feature the screening of ‘They Shot the Piano Player’ at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] on Saturday, May 25, at 7:30 pm.
A spokesperson said, “Films at BUEI continues at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] with the screening of the 2023 docudrama, ‘They Shot the Piano Player’ on Saturday, May 25th at 7:30pm in our Tradewinds Auditorium. [Wheelchair Accessible]
“This adult animated film, directed by Fernando Trueba and Javier Mariscal, centers around the real-life 1976 disappearance and presumed murder of Brazilian pianist Francisco Tenório Júnior. The audience follows the adventure of an American journalist who attempts to discover the truth behind the disappearance of the young piano virtuoso. This film’s soundtrack features music by João Gilberto, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Vinicius de Moraes and Paulo Moura.
“Seeing as this film covers the story of a relatively recent case, it has the privilege of employing the voices of individuals who experienced the event in real-time. While multiple characters are played by their real-life counterparts, the voice of the leading man in ‘They Shot the Piano Player’ is provided by the infamous American actor Jeff Goldblum [Jurassic Park, Independence Day, The Grand Budapest Hotel]. The cast also includes the voice talents of Tony Ramos [Belíssima, Caminho das Índias, Passione], Abel Ayala [El Polaquito, The Dancer and the Thief, Intuition], Roberta Wallach [The Hollywood Knights, Rabbit Hole], ngela Rabello [The Thorn and the Rose, Under Pressure, Trail of Lies], Stephen Hughes [Doomsday, Hansie: A True Story], and Alejandra Flechner [Yepeto, Inseparables, Puan].
“The film is rated PG-13 with a runtime of 1 hour and 44 minutes.
