Police Confirm Deaths Of Two Males
[Updated] Police and EMTs are “currently dealing with an incident” in the west end.
This morning [July 10], a police spokesperson said, “Police and EMTs are currently dealing with an incident on Somerset Road in the vicinity of Scaur Hill. Traffic is currently being diverted single lane through the railway trail between SoundView Road and Lantana, whilst the scene is being processed. Further updates to follow.”
Update: Video of the police press conference. Acting Commissioner of Police, Na’imah Astwood said, “About 6.05am today, the BPS responded to a call for service in the area of Scaur Hill, Sandys. Upon arrival, police discovered two unresponsive males. Unfortunately, both males have subsequently succumbed to their injuries.”
Superintendent Sherwin Joseph said they were taken to the hospital, however both “succumbed to their injuries, which we suspect to be gunshot wounds”. He added that police officers discovered forensic evidence that suggested that a firearm incident had taken place.
