College Seeks Input On New Strategic Plan
Bermuda College announced the launch of its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan preparations with an appeal to the public to help shape its vision for future generations.
A spokesperson said, “The College is currently celebrating 50 years of excellence. College President, Dr David Sam said the College now intends to build on the success of its previous 5-year plan “to create a strong foundation for the next chapter, with a steadfast focus on student outcomes and equity.”
“With half a century of stellar service to Bermuda’s community, we are committed to ensuring that our vision for the future continues to be shaped by the voices of those it serves,” he said. “To achieve this, the development of the 2025-2030 Strategic Plan will include the active participation of the College’s primary stakeholders—current students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.”
The new Strategic Plan will address both immediate challenges and opportunities within higher education, positioning the College as a leader in fostering equitable and transformative educational experiences. “Together, we can ensure that the College continues to reflect the values and needs of Bermuda’s vibrant community,” he stated.
Key instruments in crafting this visionary plan will include:
- Surveys: Collecting diverse perspectives from all primary stakeholders to understand the community’s needs and aspirations.
- Focus Groups: Hosting internal and external focus groups to explore in-depth insights from a variety of constituents, including business.
“We stand on the shoulders of 50 years of progress and innovation,” said Strategic Plan Committee Co-Chair, Necheeka Trott. “This new Plan will guide our next steps as an institution and for our community, shaping our trajectory for the next 50 years. However, we can only do this with the public’s input – particularly those that have a passion for the future of education in Bermuda. Co-Chair Alnisha Simmons agreed. “We invite all community members to take part in this pivotal process. By lending their voices to the planning process, they have the unique opportunity to influence the direction of the College as we ascend to the next level of excellence.”
