Always nice to see Bermudians being honored but real talk he should never be up there if we’re being honest….
This is why one of his 1st and best hits is ‘Blind to You’
Keep stretching Collie B you are an international star and I am proud of you
Being honest about what? Both his lyrics and music are on par or better than most artist both past and present. I wonder if your struggle has more to do with him being, les say, melatonin deficient?!
Many one hit wonders have won Grammys. He has killed it and put out hit after hit since appearing on the music scene. If not him, please advise you should have been nominated that wasn’t on the list? I trust that you are probably okay with the others on the list, regardless of if you have ever listened to their music. You know why. Just sayin!
Has nothing to do with the color of his skin or the fact he wasn’t even born in Bermuda but the fact that he fakes and puts on his accent as well as singing in a Jamaican accent. Why can’t he just be himself? Along his views about certain things I think he deserves his praise but he’s not even reggae anymore…he’s a pop artist. His first album was amazing but since then he sings for American consumers and forgets his roots or at least where he’s from or who helped put him on. Not even alluding to the fact how he’s done some here in a bad way but we won’t get into that….the nominees for this year show’s how bad the Grammy’s section/take is on Reggae albums. The bar is looooooow…..
“singing in a Jamaican accent”
What is wrong with singing in a Jamaican accent? When I sing along with Bob Marley I sing in a Jamaican accent.
Is he Jamaican or from Jamaica?! Why doesn’t he sing in his normal speaking voice or accent? – Bob Marley was Jamaican there’s a difference lmfao…my point entirely!
My elders forever reiterated: “a foolish dog barks at a flying bird!”
Again he is ‘Blind to You’ haters war instigators. Have a coke and a smile maybe then you’ll stop ‘wander’
You better return to your doctor and ask for stronger meds. I’m blind to you hater.
How is he a Bermudian? He was born in the US. There are people born in Bermuda who are not Bermudians. Bermudian hypocrisy!
Wishing you greater success with a win this year Colli B. You have done what many dream of and for this I respect and support you always.
Keep making good music
