A trip in October 2024 by Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors Tinèe Furbert to Bridgetown, Barbados cost $4,647.93, according to a recent listing on the Government’s travel webpage.

The trip duration was listed as from October 30, 2024 – November 1, 2024, and the web page listing said, “The Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors – The Hon. Tinée S. Furbert JP, MP attended the XVI Ministerial Forum for Development in Latin America and the Caribbean that was held in Bridgetown, Barbados from Oct 30th -Nov 1st, 2024.

“The theme for the forum was ‘Resilience in Action: Social Policies to Navigate Uncertainty in Latin America and the Caribbean’, with a focus on bolstering resilience and human development.

“Minister Furbert was asked to be a panelist at the sessions entitled ‘Adaptive Social Protection Systems to Build Resilience’. Minister Furbert spoke to how Bermuda and the Caribbean family must continue to evolve its social protection systems to be adaptive, inclusive, and resilient meeting the needs of those most at risk to ensure that no one is left behind. She explained that social protection includes the range of policies and programs that protect people from poverty and insecurity and how in Bermuda, the social safety nets have included financial assistance, unemployment benefits to healthcare support for seniors.

“Minister Furbert also shared that an adaptive social protection system is not just a safety net; it is a foundation for a more resilient and equitable society. It ensures that when times are tough—whether due to economic downturns, natural disasters, or public health crises—the most vulnerable citizens are not left behind.”

When members of the government travel overseas it appears to be a common theme that meal expenses are low. I suspect that there are lots of hotel dining, room service and drinks being applied to the hotel bill to hide the true expense.

$4,647. oo COME ON : that is more than our food bill for one year and six months .

      (Dumb question)
Do they care ? No ! Why should they , it’s not their money they’re blowing it’s yours. And they don’t care what you think .

The report from Barbados is in may opinion amounts a play and display of their political propoganda .

    Money don’t grow trees.

Today wars ar no longer fought with bullets as they are now fought with money and debt and deceit acording to the merchant of Venice .

Invariably meeting just generate and just talk and more talk as we get roped in with big words being flashed across the table with a view to poaching the competition ideas which all gets noted in their minutes.

Wining and dining lossen many peoples toungs , as we are encouraged to buy into their manunipulative failures all the while listening to ours with a keen ear , as what we do wrong becomes juicy fruit on their tree.

Bermudians go runing all over the planet looking for something that others are not prepared to give.

They are not our friends, they are our business competition, most likely are less better off than us , possibly with a stack of debt.

Now the universal trend is owing money .

From The U.K. News, we have just learned that they can not borrow any more money.

The UK just spent 74 million on the coronation to make 74 million .

    The swan song is. !

The question in BARBADOS could be ,what is Bermuda doing with a bunch of unachievable promises in support of our countries couch potatoes caused by covid and inflation ?

The rich may last just a little longer as their businesses could go under.
