Denise Carey Named ‘Woman Of The Year’
Executive Director of HOME Denise Carey has been named the Women’s Empowerment Summit’s 2024 ‘Woman of The Year.’
She was surprised by the accolades bestowed upon her at the ninth annual Summit by WES founder and host, Carla Zuill. Ms Zuill, along with Ms Carey’s cousin, secretly arranged to have Ms Carey at the summit so she had no clue what was awaiting her.
As she accepted the award, she spoke passionately about the plight of the homeless in Bermuda, and that her mission is for her organisation to help eradicate the growing numbers on the island.
Previous Women of The Year include MasterKey Management’s Director Sharika Tucci, Co-Founder of Tomorrow’s Voices Thea Furbert, former Trade Union Conference Chair Betty-Ann Caesar, and educator Devonna Samuels.
