Mia Fishel Releases First Children’s Book

Footballer Mia Fishel has released her first children’s book, Big Fish, which aims to inspire youngsters to be “brave, stay determined, and follow their dreams.”

Fishel, whose father Patrick is Bermudian, is related to the Bascomes, the island’s famous football family, including former Bermuda players Andrew and David Bascome.

“Excited to announce that my book, Big Fish, is officially on sale on my website!” Fishel, whose nickname is Big Fish, wrote on social media.

“I can’t wait to hear about the lessons you take from the book, and how it can apply to your life.”

A description on Fishel’s website reads: “In her debut children’s book, Big Fish, Mia takes young readers on a fun and exciting adventure.

“With colourful illustrations and an inspiring story, it follows a young character learning to be brave, stay determined, and follow their dreams.

“Full of heart and encouragement, Big Fish, reminds kids that they can achieve anything with belief in themselves.”

Fishel, who was born in San Diego, California, joined English side Chelsea from Mexican club Tigres in the summer of 2023, scoring once in ten appearances last season to help Chelsea win a fifth successive the Women’s Super League title.

She has also represented the United States women’s national team.
