Adam Hall Prepares For Spring Training
Milwaukee Brewers prospect Adam Hall is staying sharp with daily training at Centrefield Sports [CFS] in London, Ontario, as he gears up for spring training in Arizona next month.
Bermudian Hall, a second-round pick by the Orioles in 2017, was once tipped to reach the big leagues by now.
However, the promising shortstop encountered setbacks because of the Covid-19 pandemic, injuries, and stiff competition along the way.
“A combination of injuries, bad timing with Covid and restructuring of the minor leagues,” Hall told CTV News London.
“The Orioles did a great job of drafting, so there was lots of competition there.
“I didn’t play as well as I should have at times. I mean, it’s not all excuses, and I need to play better to stay around, and that’s just the way it goes.”
Hall began last season in independent ball with Winnipeg, but it was not long before the Brewers came calling.
He was soon off to Arizona and then Biloxi, Mississippi.
“I’m really happy with how I did defensively this year,” Hall said.
“I played a lot of left field, which [is] not a position I was super familiar with – more centre field. That was a change, but I know that the Brewers value that as a metric in their organisation. Being able to do that, it’s a nice thing to have.”
Hall’s baseball journey started at the YAO baseball programme at Southside, St David’s
