ICO Decision On Department Of Corrections

Acting Information Commissioner LaKai Dill issued Decision 10/2025 regarding the Department of Corrections.

A spokesperson said, “On 28 February 2025, Acting Information Commissioner LaKai Dill issued Decision 10/2025, Department of Corrections, which considered the Department’s decision on a PATI request for records about the health, privileges and management of inmates. The Department had denied parts of the PATI request because they contained personal information about inmates.

“During the Information Commissioner’s review, the parties engaged in a facilitated resolution, where the Applicant narrowed the scope of their request, and the Department agreed to provide non-exempt, anonymised information to the Applicant. Considering the parties’ final revised position, the Acting Information Commissioner found that no issue remained to be decided. The Acting Information Commissioner has ordered the Department to disclose the records it agreed to, by Friday, 11 April 2025.”
