Lindo’s Tigers Claim Winter League Title
Lindo’s Tigers have claimed the Bermuda Netball Association Senior Winter League title after defeating Storm 39-30 at Bernard Park yesterday [March 8].
Lindo’s, coached by Anthony Mouchette, finish their campaign undefeated with 12 successive victories.
Jahkenya Trott led the Tigers’ scoring efforts with 20 points, while Jahtuere Trott, the team captain, contributed 19.
Micah Pond was named Best Attacker, Jordyn Ming was awarded Best Defender, and Demiqua Daniels was crowned MVP for Lindo’s.
Nahbiilah Nasir was named Best Attacker for Storm, scoring 24 points.
Zakiyah Durham scored four points, and SheNova Edwards adding two.
Elishae Smith was awarded Best Defender, and Debre’ Evans was named MVP.
In the other Winter League match, the North Village Lady Rams defeated the St George’s Lady Colts 45-27.
Coriah Simmons, who was named MVP, led the Lady Rams with 30 points.
Jordyn Morris, the Best Attacker, contributed ten points, and Apryl Jackson scored five.
Zipporah Grant was named Best Defender.
For the St George’s Lady Colts, Stacy-Ann Brown, the MVP, scored 16 points, while Kristin Holman added 11.
Kiarrah Rogers was named Best Attacker, and Tina Wall was awarded Best Defender.
Earlier in the day, the youth matches were held with the Who’s Who Tournament, featuring Under-11 and Under-14 divisions.
