Ministry Issues Five Road Traffic Notices
The Ministry of Public Works and Environment has issued several traffic notices, including North Shore Road, Smiths – Lane Closure, Sound View Road, Sandys – Road Closure, Causeway Bailey Bridge – Lane Closure, Lindo’s to Lindo’s 10k Run & 4 Mile Walk, and George’s Bay Road & Middle Road, Southampton – Lane Closure.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works and Environment advises the motoring public of the following road traffic notices, which include lane closures and road closures to accommodate necessary repair works and public events. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternative routes where necessary and plan accordingly.
“1. North Shore Road, Smiths – Lane Closure
“Wednesday, 5 March 2025 to Friday, 7 March 2025
“The eastbound lane on North Shore Road, just east of Store Hill, will be closed for road edge repair works. Working hours are from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 3:00 p.m. Traffic controls will be in place, and motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes via Store Hill or Middle Road.
“2. Sound View Road, Sandys – Road Closure
“Wednesday, 5 March 2025 to Wednesday, 19 March 2025
“Sound View Road at the junction with Somerset Road will be closed for wall repair work. The closure will extend from Somerset Road to Tatem Drive to facilitate the necessary equipment and materials. The road will be inaccessible to all traffic for the duration of the work.
“3. Causeway Bailey Bridge – Lane Closure
“Saturday, 8 March 2025 to Sunday, 9 March 2025
“The bridge deck on the Causeway in St. George’s requires repair work, necessitating a lane closure. Working hours will be from 6:00 a.m. to approximately 6:00 p.m. Traffic controls will be in place, including traffic lights and stop-and-go signs.
“4. Lindo’s to Lindo’s 10k Run & 4 Mile Walk
“Sunday, 9 March 2025
“The annual Lindo’s to Lindo’s 10k Run and 4 Mile Walk will occur from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Motorists are advised to be aware of race routes and traffic control measures in effect.
“5. George’s Bay Road & Middle Road, Southampton – Lane Closure
“Monday, 10 March 2025 to Thursday, 10 April 2025
“Paving works will occur on Middle Road and George’s Bay Road in Southampton. Starting 10 March 2025, a one-lane closure will be implemented on George’s Bay Road from Middle Road to the Railway Trail. After completion, works will return to Middle Road and Evans Bay Road, with a one-lane closure expected on 17 March 2025.
“Motorists are urged to exercise caution in these areas and adhere to traffic control measures. For further details, please refer to the attached notices.”
