BELCO Scholarship Deadline On April 30th

BELCO advised that the “deadline to apply for the Company’s scholarship opportunities that are available to Bermudian students is quickly approaching on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.”

A spokesperson said, “The scholarships available include:

1. BELCO STEM Education Awards [$2,500 to $20,000 for one year] – This scholarship is open to students studying for an undergraduate degree in science, technology, engineering and math [STEM], the number of awards and value, between $2,500 and $20,000, will be at the discretion of the Committee.
2. Llewellyn Vorley Engineering Scholarship [$25,000 per annum for up to 4 years] – This scholarship provides the recipient the opportunity to further their knowledge in engineering fields and to share knowledge and experience with the Company and wider community.
3. A.T. Oughton Post Graduate Business & Finance Scholarship [$25,000 for one year] - This scholarship will be granted to a suitable candidate studying for a graduate degree in a business or finance discipline.
4. C. Eugene Cox Post Graduate Environmental Studies, Sustainability & Development Scholarship [$25,000.00 for one year] – This scholarship will be granted to a suitable candidate studying for a graduate degree in Renewable Energy, Sustainability, Engineering, Environmental Studies and/or Information Technology, related discipline.

BELCO Director of HR & Culture, LaKeitha Cunningham said, “Young Bermudians looking for a rewarding career at a great Company have an opportunity to receive funding to further their education. With the deadline to apply for our scholarships fast approaching, I encourage those interested in these fields to submit an application so that the next generation of Bermudians will have the knowledge and skills to help us achieve our future sustainability goals.”
