Musician Robert Symons has been delighting shoppers at The Clocktower Mall in Dockyard with the soothing sounds of his steel pan.
A seasoned professional musician since 1976, Symons has been a fixture at the mall lately, enchanting locals and tourists with his vibrant performances.
Beyond Dockyard, Symons has shared his musical talents aboard ferries, at the Washington Mall, and at Supermart on Front Street.
His musical journey began as a bass guitarist, performing with cabaret show bands throughout Bermuda, along the United States East Coast, and across the Caribbean.
In 1995, while living in the US Virgin Islands, Symons discovered the steel pan – a turning point that led to new performance opportunities, including appearances for the Bermuda Department of Tourism, at LF Wade International Airport, and on Caribbean cruise ships.
