Bermudian goalkeeper Nathan Trott is on the verge of joining Sky Bet League One side Cardiff City on loan from Danish SuperLiga team Copenhagen, according to media reports.

Trott, who made 30 appearances for Copenhagen last season, joined the Danish outfit from English Premier League side West Ham United last summer.

A report on Walesonline read: “Tipsbladet [A Danish news outlet] claim that a clause has been inserted into the agreement which states that Cardiff will have a purchase option on the former West Ham player, should they achieve promotion back to the Championship at the end of the season.

“That purchase option is said to be worth £1.57 million, with Trott currently contracted to the Danish champions until 2028.

“Reports also claim that AGF, OB, FC Köln and Estoril had been keen on the former England youth international.”

The 26-year-old has previously had stints at Danish second-tier side Vejle, AFC Wimbledon in League One and French side AS Nancy Lorraine in Ligue 2.

Cardiff were relegated from the Championship last term.
