911 And Police Phone Lines Fixed After Outage
[Updated] Due to “technical difficulties,” all police telephone lines — including 911 — are currently down this morning [Aug 21].
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] advises the public that, due to technical difficulties, all police telephone lines are currently down, including:
- 911 [Emergency Line]
- 211 [Non-Emergency Line]
- 295-0011 [Main BPS Line]
“Until further notice, for police assistance, please call
“Land lines :
- 292-5590
- 295-0012
- 295-0064
- 292-7403
- 292-1707
“Cellphone lines:
- 515- 1745
- 515-1622
- 515-1623
- 515-1624
- 515-1625
“For the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service and/or ambulance, please call 533-2066.
“We thank the public for their cooperation and will provide an update as soon as normal service is restored.”
Update 5.34pm: A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service wishes to inform the public that the emergency reporting number, 911, is once again operational.
“As such, if you require emergency assistance from police, ambulance or Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service, you may use the 911 number
“The non-emergency reporting number 211, is also now back in service.
“However, the main police number, 295-0011, remains out of service at this time.
“We continue to work on getting that number back on line.
“We apologise for any inconvenience which may have been caused while these number were out of service.
“Thank you for your patience and cooperation while we work to restore service to the main police number.”
