Young Athletes Head To UK Track Camp
Nine young Bermudian track and field athletes have headed to England to develop their skills at a weeklong training camp.
Attending the camp are Amaris Munya, 15, Mylah DeSilva, 12, Jaeda Grant, 16, Azari Jones, 16, Nasir Johnson, 15, S’Nya Cumberbatch, 16, Jemani Scott, 11, A’sad Muhammad, 12, and Surii Russell 16.
The Young Athlete Camp started on Monday [August 18] at Tonbridge School in Kent.
“Our young athletes are off to London for the Young Athlete Camp training camp,” read a Bermuda National Athletics Association post.
“A week of hard work, learning, and new experiences awaits.
“Wishing them the best as they take this opportunity to grow on and off the track.”
A Young Athlete Camp flyer read: “Our camps are not just about running!
“They nurture personal development. You will go back home, with a thorough knowledge of training, racing, injury prevention, mental wellbeing and nutrition.
“You will also make friends and have fun!”
