Logan Jiménez And Hibs U19 Win In Europe
Bermudian footballer Logan Jiménez helped Hibernian Under-19 make a winning start to their Uefa Youth League campaign with a 4-0 win over Kosovan side FC 2 Korriku at Easter Road today [October 22].
It was Jiménez’s first game at the home of Scottish side Hibernian.
Hibernian Under-19 qualified for Europe’s elite youth tournament after winning the CAS Elite Under-18 League last season.
Forty teams – including Aston Villa, AZ Alkmaar and Dynamo Kyiv – will participate in the second round of the competition, playing home-and-away ties.
Advancing beyond the second and third rounds would see Hibernian join up with teams playing in the Uefa Champions League path of the Youth League as the two pathways merge to begin the knockout stages of the competition.
A former Bermuda Under-17 captain, Jiménez played for Scottish Schools’ Under-18 in their home matches against English Schools’ Under-18 and Australia Schools Under-18 last term.
