Daley Nominated For Male Rookie Award
Bermudian swimmer Elijah Daley has been named as a finalist for the Male Rookie of the Year award at the University of Toronto, following a sensational debut season.
In announcing him as a nominee the university said, “Jumping in as a contributor in his debut season with the U of T swim team, Daley earned valuable points for the Blues en route to an OUA banner and U SPORTS silver. The Political Science and Society, Law & Ethics student from Bermuda earned individual provincial silver and OUA all-star honours after placing second in the 200m IM at the OUA Championships.
“He would also secure three more Top 10 finishes placing fourth in the 200m butterfly, fifth in the 100m breaststroke, and 10th in the 50m breaststroke. On the national stage at the U SPORTS Championships, he swam in three A-Finals, placing fourth in the 200m butterfly, fifth in the 100m butterfly, and fifth in the 200m IM.”
The winners will be announced at the Varsity Blues Awards Gala on Friday, March 27.
