Jahkenya Trott has reflected on Lindo’s Tigers’ successful title defence after finishing the Bermuda Netball Association Winter League season undefeated for the second successive season.

Coach Anthony Mouchette’s side capped off their flawless campaign with a 45-24 victory over Storm at Bernard Park last weekend, with Trott recording a game-high 30 points.

“Winning back-to-back titles feels great – especially going undefeated again,” Trott told Bernews.

“We had our ups and down like every team, but we stuck to it and we came out with the title.

“It felt just as good to win it this year as last year.”

Trott, who has played for the Bermuda national team, said this season will be her final campaign.

“I know I said it last season, but this season definitely will be my last,” Trott said.

“I feel like it’s time to hang up the shoes. It’s good to go out with a bang.”

The goal shooter added that the team are now set to go their separate ways after their latest title success.

“There will be no more Tigers – we’re going to take break as a team,” she added.

“Some of the players, such as my sister [Jahtuere Trott], might join other teams, so I’ll still go and support them.

“Our coach will still coach the national team, but it doesn’t look like they’ll be a Tigers team – unless everyone suddenly decides to come back!”
