Police Extend Thanks, Seek Witness After Incident

Police issued a witness appeal after an incident involving a distressed minor, seeking to identify a woman heard in a video.

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the community, for assisting with efforts to address the situation involving the minor who was in distress, while traveling on a PTB bus, recently.

“Thanks to the information provided by you, we were able to make contact not only the family of the minor, but also the individual [also a minor] who recorded the video-clip of the incident, which was then shared on social media.”

Inspector Kenten Trott, of the Vulnerable Persons Unit and who is the officer dealing with the matter stated, “The fact that we were able to so quickly identify the persons involved in this incident and begin taking the necessary steps to have it addressed, is thanks to the willingness of the public to get involved. Thank you for your courage and support.”

The spokesperson said, “We are still seeking to identify the adult female heard speaking to the girl in the video clip. If you were traveling on the bus on which the incident occurred, or know who that individual is and have not yet reached out to him, please contact Inspector Trott on 717-2345 or, via e-mail at kenten.trott@bps.bm.
