The Bermuda SPCA announced that the Bermuda Seniors Golfers’ Society recently hosted a successful fundraising event, raising a total of $5,725 in support of the SPCA’s veterinary care services.
Miles Stephans, President of the Bermuda Seniors Golfers’ Society, shared: “We are proud to support the Bermuda SPCA and the important work they do across the island. A spokesperson said, “These funds will directly support essential medical care provided not only to animals at the shelter but also to pets and animals across the wider community. The SPCA works closely with pet owners who need assistance, helping to cover spay and neuter services, emergency veterinary treatment, and urgent medical care for animals in need.
“In addition, the SPCA provides care for injured and vulnerable animals found across the island, including those picked up from the roadside or in distress. This work ensures that animals, regardless of circumstance, receive the care and compassion they deserve.
“Each year, the Bermuda SPCA spends over $100,000 on veterinary care, reflecting both the growing need within the community and the organization’s ongoing commitment to animal welfare.”
April Augustus, Executive Director of the Bermuda SPCA, added: “We are incredibly grateful to the Bermuda Seniors Golfers’ Society for their generosity. Support like this allows us to continue meeting the growing needs we see across the community and ensures that help is available when it’s needed most. It truly reflects the strength of a community that cares.”
A spokesperson added, “The SPCA extends its sincere appreciation to all who supported this successful event. Community-driven support like this makes it possible to continue delivering critical services to animals and the people who care for them.
