Bahamas Replace Brazil In Bermuda Opener
The Bermuda national cricket team will open their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Americas Qualifier campaign against the Bahamas after a late change to the tournament schedule.
Coach Cal Waldron’s side had been due to face Brazil in their Group A opener at the National Sports Centre, North Field, tomorrow [June 21], but the fixture was rearranged after travel delays affected the Brazilian team.
“There’s been a change to the schedule,” Waldron told Bernews.
“Brazil are still travelling and are due to arrive today.
“Our first game will be against the Bahamas, so we will have to adjust our goalposts a bit.
“Our aim is still to go out there and perform and come out with a victory and some margins of positivity.”
They will face the Bahamas, Brazil, Belize and Panama in a round-robin format.
Bermuda face the Bahamas at 3pm tomorrow.
