Rain Affects Opening Day Of T20 ICC Qualifier
[Updated] Heavy rain has delayed Bermuda’s opening match against the Bahamas in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Americas Qualifier at the North Field, National Sports Centre, today [June 21].
The covers remain firmly in place at the venue, with dark clouds overhead and no immediate indication of when, and if, play might begin.
Play was scheduled to start at 3pm.
The Bahamas won the toss and elected to bat in the Group A encounter.
The earlier match between Belize and Panama was abandoned without a ball being bowled because of rain.
Update: The second match also did not take place due to the rain
Steven Douglas, the BCB second vice-president and local tournament director of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Qualifier, said he hopes the competition will get underway tomorrow after both of today's matches were abandoned because of rain pic.twitter.com/myMzSaJcaR
