Five Young Sailors Compete At Optimist Worlds
Five youth sailors from Bermuda began competing at the 2026 Optimist World Championship in Morocco, joining almost 300 youth sailors from around the world.
Thomas McBain led the Bermudian contingent in the opening day of action, finishing in 24th place to earn 15 points, while Miguel Leite was the second finisher for Bermuda, placing 115th overall with 61 points.
Heath Meyers finished the opening race in 167th position with 84 points, while Rex Henagulph placed 180th with 88 points and Jesse Savage rounded out the Bermudian results in 185th place with 90 points.
