Bermuda Swimmers To Begin Games Campaign
Bermuda’s swimmers will become the island’s first athletes in action at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow when competition begins at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre on Friday [July 24].
Elan Daley, Elijah Daley, Emma Harvey, Jack Harvey and Sam Williamson will represent Bermuda in the pool during the six-day swimming programme, which runs until July 29.
Elan Daley and Emma Harvey will compete in the women’s 50 metres butterfly heats on Friday morning, while Jack Harvey races in the men’s 50 backstroke heats and Sam Williamson contests the men’s 200 individual medley.
The women’s 50 butterfly and men’s 50 backstroke finals are scheduled for the evening session.
Bermuda’s swimmers will miss tomorrow’s opening ceremony at the OVO Hydro to focus on their events the following morning.
