Jack Harvey On Winning Bronze At CAC Games
Jack Harvey won Bermuda’s first medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, yesterday [July 30].
Harvey claimed bronze in the men’s 50 metres backstroke A final at the Juan Pablo Duarte Aquatic Centre, finishing in 25.33sec.
The 23-year-old, who competed at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, won his heat in 25.37sec to qualify for the final.
“I’m super happy with the medal – the first for Bermuda at the CAC Games,” Harvey told Bernews.
“Hopefully, there’s more to come tomorrow and Saturday in the 100 and 200 [backstroke].
“It feels nice to step on the podium. It wasn’t my cleanest swim, but I did enough, and that’s all that matters.”
