Riker & Pitcher Compete At Optimist Nationals
Bermuda youth sailors Aaron Riker and Hudson Pitcher represented the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club at the 2026 Canadian Optimist National Championship in Vancouver.
Hosted by the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club in August, the event attracted sailors from Canada, Bermuda, the Bahamas and the United States.
Following six qualifying races and a day of team racing, the championship fleet was divided into Gold and Silver Fleets for four final-series races over the final two days.
Pitcher finished first among the 65 sailors in the Silver Fleet with 177.1 net points. He recorded finishes of fifth, second, third and second during the final series.
Riker competed in the 66-boat Gold Fleet, finishing 40th with 246 net points after ten races.
