The Progressive Labour Party [PLP] Women’s Caucus hosted a forum focused on breast cancer awareness and women’s health.

A spokesperson said, “The Progressive Labour Party women’s caucus delivered what the PLP have been long known for –  a grassroots initiative in a well-decorated school auditorium – to educate the populace and as a fundraising initiative.

“In the midst of this political storm, the ladies of the PLP led the way with a well-attended forum on hand to receive well-informed presentations from panelists and have the opportunity to ask questions.

“Moderator Mrs Elaine Butterfield did an outstanding job and was joined by panelists Mrs Joanne Ball-Burgess, Dr. Karen Grant-Simmons, Ms. Keisha Tyrrell, and Mrs Azuree Williams.

“The audience was totally engaged as the topics addressed everyday challenges [fighting breast cancer] experienced by women [and men] in our community. The audience was urged to vigilantly test regularly, know their bodies, and exercise regularly to strengthen their bodies and minds.”
