Three Men Charged in RAA Shooting

Three men, one only 17 years old, appeared in Magistrates Court this morning being charged with crimes relating to the Easter morning shooting at the Royal Artillery Association [RAA] club in St. George’s. None of the men were required to enter a plea.

On Easter morning [April 4th] 18 yr old Shawn Williams was shot and a 19 year old man was stabbed at around 3:05am during a reggae party at the club. During a press conference later that day, police revealed that the entire altercation involved 6-7 people.

The three men being charged are:

Dwayne Signor

  • 29 years old, charged with:
  • Accused of attempting to cause death
  • Shooting Shawn Williams with a loaded gun
  • Possession of a firearm
  • Possession of ammunition
  • Remanded, will re-appear on April 26

Khyri Smith-Williams

  • 19 years old, charged with:
  • Possessing a prohibited weapon in the form of a firearm
  • Being armed to a public place with the intention of causing terror
  • Remanded, will re-appear on April 26

Jason Barnett

  • 17 years old, accused of taking part in the altercation.
  • Only one bailed out.

These three defendants are the first suspects to be charged in recent shootings, with no charges being brought as of yet in the shootings this past month of Jakai Harford, Robin Stovell, Maurice Martin, Mikaela Outerbridge, Antoine Tuzo, and the fatal shootings of James Lawes and Kimwandae Walker.
