Pump Failure Disrupts Ocean Trip

June 30, 2010

A boat heading out from Bermuda intending to travel to Massachusetts had to be towed back in following technical issues aboard the vessel. Bermuda Radio received a report at 5:21pm on Monday June 28th that the sailing vessel Trinity, which was on a voyage from Bermuda to Marblehead, Mass, had suffered water pump failure.

The boat, which had 4 persons on board, was in the process of returning to Bermuda under sail and requested a tow into the harbour. At 2:04am yesterday morning [June 29] Bermuda Yacht Services workboat ‘Line One’ rendezvoused with ‘Trinity’ at the sea buoy and towed her safely into St.George’s Harbour.
