Photos: St George’s Old Towne Market

October 31, 2010

The Old Towne Market launched today [Oct 31] in St. George’s, and saw a strong turnout of Bermudians and visitors out for the market’s debut. There were numerous vendors, arts and crafts, a pumpkin carving competition with prizes provided by Robertson’s, Meyers and Conscious Vibes, Richard Allen AME dancers, free candies & treats and much more.  The fishing boat docked saw steady line of customers at with them selling out of certain types of fish while we were there.

The markets will run every Sunday from 2pm-6pm until December 19th. More vendors are signed up and expected to be there next week, and additional vendors are welcome to sign up, please call 296-6185 for further information. Organizers are aiming to assist in rejuvenating the east end, which has been suffering a decline in business. They say the Olde Town Market will be “bringing back an old European style street market of yesteryear, with the products you want today.” Please feel free to stop by on Sundays and support our East Enders.
