Bermuda Christmas Event To Aid Refugee Kids

November 12, 2011

Where can Bermuda residents sample some Christmas cheer, pick up unique, exotic and beautiful Christmas gifts, enjoy wonderful entertainment — and. while you are doing all this, help children in serious need?

The answer? The KatKids Christmas Market being staged at the Mount St. Agnes School auditorium on December 2 from 5.30 p.m. until 11 p.m.

Last year Bermuda’s Kathmandu Kids Club saw over 600 people attend their Christmas Market and fun was had by all.

“This year we have ‘Not The Um Um Show’ veteran Bruce Barritt as the auctioneer, a new African dance troupe and a new band who will be performing,” said a spokesman.

“As with our past markets in the past, our stalls will be filled with unique arts, crafts and jewelry all direct from Nepal and Uganda.

“Bruce Barritt hosts our live and silent auctions, offering you the chance to haggle your way for that special Christmas gift. The mulled wine and Christmas carols will bring the festive spirit to one and all and the evening will light up as Bermuda Donquili, African Dance troupe, take to the stage. The Crazy Wednesdays will rock out the end of the evening and do not forget the non-stop happy hour drinks.

Tickets are $10 and can be bought online now www.premiertickets.bm. Tickets will also be available at the door on a cash only basis.

All net proceeds go directly to Bermuda’s ISIS Foundation projects in Nepal.

Through The ISIS Foundation, to link hands with and provide support for Nepali children in serious need.

The ISIS Foundation’s Kathmandu Kids Club provides funding for the living expenses — health, housing, food and schooling — of children living in Kathmandu who are refugees from the violence of the civil war in the mountains of Nepal.
