Toronto FC Announce Lambe Signing

Toronto FC officially announced yesterday [Dec.7] that they have signed Bermudian international midfielder Reggie Lambe, pending receipt of his work permit and International Transfer Certificate. As per team and league policies, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are very happy to add a young and talented player like Reggie Lambe,” said Toronto FC Head Coach and Technical Director Aron Winter. “Reggie is a dangerous winger with a great amount of speed and ability. He will be an important player and will fit in well with our club.”

Lambe, 20, most recently played for English Championship side Ipswich Town, where he began his career in the youth side in 2007. He joined the first team and stayed with the club until his release at the conclusion of last season. He was loaned out to Bristol Rovers where he made seven appearances in 2011.

Lambe has earned 12 caps for the Bermuda national team and has scored four goals for the island His international debut came at the age of 16 against St. Kitts and Nevis in December 2007. Lambe scored all four of his goals in one match, on August 30, 2008, a 7-0 victory over St. Martin. The midfielder was most recently part of Bermuda’s past four 2014 World Cup qualifying matches.
