WHO HAS THE PAEDOPHILE LIST OF BERMUDA???

    • Wee Pow says:

Talk to your MPs regarding this issue. i have been asking for the past 2 yrs

      • Truth says:

There is not a list nor are these scumbags required to register once they are let out of prison. Therefore, these predators are driving our children to school, coaching our children, living next door to our children…and we can’t do a darn thing about it! This government has been asked over and over again to create a Sex Offender Registry but they refuse to do so…this makes me wonder WHY? Something to hide?? Why are we protecting the people who prey on our children?

BERMUDA NEEDS A SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY!!!!!

        • all clogged up says:

F*CK Dennis, Why man? You should have had this problem taken care of a long long time ago! I hope prison time would set you str8

  2. Tommy Chong says:

HOLY!!! This guy looks like Mr. Burns from the simpsons. The maniacal grin will soon be wipe from his face up at westgate & soon replaced with this look. :-o Those boys are gonna love you up in there Mr. Burns.

    • Rob says:

“Release the hounds Smithers! No, no, not my picture gallery of underage boys you fool!”

    • Eyes Wide Open says:

I was gonna say that too!! He looks just like Mr. Burns from the Simpsons, but with Herbert the Pervert’s (from Family Guy) characteristics! UGH! Sickening! I feel really bad for that poor young boy :(

  3. Voice of Reason says:

Methinks this sentence is too short

    • Tommy Chong says:

Its definitely too short for a deuce like him but a caucasian pedophile in westgate is like christmas for the long time inmates. He better hope ebay doesn’t get locked up anytime soon. They might even give him a pet name like vanilla cupcake.

      • Tommy Chong says:

My bad it should have read douche like him not deuce like him. My spellcheck needs a spellcheck.

      • LMFAO says:

I was just scanning these comments for the hell of it, and saw the mention of ebay

and I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard in my life

        • Tommy Chong says:

Im guessing you know of this guy ebay. Sadly he was one of my childhood friends now when I see him I cross the street & duck down an alley as quick as I can. Not scared of the guy its just that he creeps me out a bit especially when he shakes my hand & tries to pull me in for a hug. Ebay reminds the character Damon in Mike Epps Friday After Next & his Mike Tyson voice is hilarious. One good thing I have to say is when I used to hang around ebay nobody would dare try & bully me.

          • YES MATE! says:

Duece works, as in #2. Big up Bernews for putting his photo up.

      • donna says:

Everytime color comes into the subject who cares what color he is. He is scum

        • Tommy Chong says:

The guys in prison care what colour he is & they will treat him worse for it. Ask anyone who’s been to prison & they’ll tell you colour means a lot in there.

    • PEPPER says:

      just shoot these sickos,

  4. Smh says:

    He looks good & C R A Z Y

  5. cocoa says:

    Sickening!

  6. REALISM says:

just look at him, mercy he looks like he would do sumtin like that

    • donna says:

Molester come in many shapes sizes and color. Not all molesters are strange looking like him

  7. Winnie says:

10 Measley years, smh, oh yes who are the Rapist and Paedos walking unkowingly amongst us ?????????? A printed medium reported he was discounted 2 years, smh. Scales certainly not balanced one man receives a 16 year term for attemted rape and then another receives 10 years for molesting a child. In my mind they are one and the same therefore this sentence should reflect on the one given out yesterday. I don’t want hear about any mitigating circumstances, ect, none.

    • Pastor Syl says:

Sentencing definitely appears to be skewed. RG linked his story with the mentally challenged would-be murderer who had a most difficult childhood. No mitigating circumstances for him, though, even though he had the intelligence of a 9 year old his father and his brother-in-law were murdered and his mom imprisoned. 25 years for him, and he wasn’t even successful in the murder attempt!

Please don’t misunderstand, I am in no way condoning the would-be murderer’s actions, but when I think of the poor child(ren?) this monster molested and the long-term emotional trauma they will be dealing with for many years, trauma that will also impact their families and their relationships for the unforeseeable future, I am angry that he was given 2 years off because of mitigating circumstances. Nearly every molester and rapist has a history of being sexually exploited themselves. Nearly every gang-banger and violent criminal on this island has a dysfunctional, violent history too. What makes one deserving of mitigation and not the others?

Sexual crimes in the country are STILL not considered as serious as other crime, at least by the courts.

  8. all4youth says:

This is one that was caught! Remember that there are more out there that unfortunately will not! Parents, please be very, very careful with your children. These sick people are the ones that you would least expect, i.e. family members and closest friends! God please bless this family and all of those children who are being sexually exploited.

  9. Lennie says:

Can anyone say soap on a rope. I just hope and pray that he never feels secure at Westgate and that “justice” get served upon his self.
People like that should never see the light of day. I can only hope when he is eligble for Parole he is refused.

    • Armchair Psychologist says:

Contrary to what is being posted here, getting molested himself is the least of this sicko’s worries. He is being segregated ‘for his own protection.’ That’s not because prison officials worry this perv will be sexually attacked…his biggest worry right now is getting a shank to the ribs…

  10. True Bermudian says:

This piece of trash should never be allowed out of a jail cell again.

Adults who rape children have a 100% chance of re offending once released.

This piece of excrement is a sick animal and needs to be put down. We don’t need to house, feed and coddle him. We need to strap him down and euthanize him like the sick perverted animal he is.

Bermuda needs to protect her children. We need to stand up and get rid of the real dangers to our children, families and our society swiftly and with finality.

Child rape should not be tolerated anywhere.

Thank you Bernews for publishing this sad excuse for a mammal’s photo.

Yet another reason to stay vigilant and keep your machete sharp…

  11. smh says:

Ummm he looks PSYCHO! Up there lookin like a demonic gremlin

  12. Wee Pow says:

Who wants to bet he will only serve 4 yrs…

    • Well I Never says:

Less than that! Remember bermuda’s stupid law says you only do a 1/3 of your sentence for good behaviour so he will be out in 3.4 years or even less with time already spent in custody so he will be out soon…. No Justice around here.

  13. Fed Up Bermudian says:

This is just scary. Won’t he be out in 5 if he behaves himself in Westgate? Wow. I guess that’s why they call prison ‘the pokey’. I can imagine he’ll get a lot of ‘that’ in there. Agree that the sentence is way too light. That young boy’s going to need some serious therapy for quite a while if he’s going to put this successfully behind him. I hope to God this kid knows it’s not his fault in ANY way, shape, or form, and I pray to God that he’ll be able to get through this without letting it cloud the rest of his life.
Childhood should be about innocence. So shocking and sad.
Re: the post about a ‘paedophile list’- please know that this wouldn’t protect the innocence of the wronged party. Yes, it’s a small place, I bet the community sort of knows who this creep did this to, but still. It could be more potentially damaging to the community. And…what about those that are wrongfully accused- do they get the honour of being listed? I don’t know- I totally agree with the active protection of our kids, but I’m just not convinced that a list is the way to go. I can say that this guy’s looks are certainly ‘memorable’, so it won’t be too hard to keep my kids away from him when he gets out!
Wasn’t this guy heavily involved with the performing arts community?? Oh I shudder to think that he may have done this to others who are too timid to come forward.

    • Fed Up Bermudian says:

And before I get hate mail on the list thing, I’m also not convinced it’s NOT the way to go. After all, his name and his photo are public, we just need an action group to save that info and log it in a database. Anyway…so very sad for the child involved. And, as a parent, angry too.

      • True Bermudian says:

The only action an group needs to take is to round all these sickos up and take them all on a one way fishing mission.

Plenty that are out of jail now we can start with.

        • CYGNET says:

@ True Bermudian. Dont forget to make sure the concrete boots for the nasty Scum bags when they go on the fishing trip.

        • Pastor Syl says:

Be careful what you wish for! There are many more where he came from: brothers, fathers, uncles, cousins, grandfathers, step-fathers of any one of us.
The unofficial statistics in the late 80s were that 1 in every 2 females and 1 in every 3 or 4 males on this island were molested before the age of 16, and almost all by someone they knew, and often trusted.
We teach our children to beware of strangers. We need to be teaching them about good touch and bad touch; making it easy and acceptable for them to talk with us about anything, especially about secrets that make them uncomfortable. We need to make it clear that they are not to blame when an adult makes them do something they instinctively know is wrong, even if it feels good – because sometimes it does feel good, which lays the burden of shame and guilt on small shoulders. Adults are supposed to protect children, not exploit them.
If you notice a child who is precocious about sexual things, there is a strong likelihood s/he has been molested. Please note that molestation also includes being exposed to pornographic images. We deplore our young girls who act and dress provocatively, yet I am convinced it is because someone has made them believe that their primary value is in their bodies. I’d like to see it be a criminal offence for grown men to hang around middle and high schools chatting up the young female students just like it is to have drugs in a school zone.

          • Fed Up Bermudian says:

Pastor Syl, I’ve been saying this for ages…we objectify our girls from an early age,and we marginalize our boys. So long as we keep doing this, we’ll be forever on this path of woe. LOVE the idea of banning older guys from the areas around middle schools. We teach our girls to only value their bodies, and we seem only to pay attention to our boys when they misbehave, at which point we explain away their actions with ‘boys will be boys’. We aren’t raising men, we are raising overgrown boys…and we teach our girls to be sex objects before they even know what sex is or means. NOT NOT NOT saying that any child ‘deserves’ anything, not what I mean at all, but so long as we think it’s cute when our boys strike ‘gangsta’ poses and our girls are applauded for hip-pumping to the beat of some misogynistic song, it’s sort of stupid of us as adults to expect much of anything wholesome and good.
SMH with this one, though. And am praying lots for that child.

Now- one final thought- how many of you remember what happened when you were two years old?? How does this guy remember what happened when he was two?? Just sayin’. His mother was a known whack job, an alcoholic, but I have to wonder if it was said to garner sympathy in an attempt to reduce his sentence?? God forgive my mind for working like this, but it’s no one’s word but his, right? So…if he’s twisted enough to have that kind of stuff on his computer, he might be sick enough to make something up. Not saying he wasn’t, but…just makes you wonder. Sometimes evil just happens, it’s not always bred.

      • Lissa says:

It is saved on Bermuda is another world blog.
        the Pedo Listing that is…
and this sicko was a music teacher….

  14. the Doctor says:

Well what I would like to say I will agree with you all on here that the sentence is to short. However instead of voicing your outrage on here voice it to the policy makers that can change the sentencing times for animals like this that prey on children.

  15. Ya momma says:

Betta put him ova max! Guys r gonna take all his sh!t

  16. Meek MIlli says:

lol Mr. Burns from the simpsons

  17. Rummy says:

I feel sorry for the man.

    Unspeakable acts against humanity.

It’s a desease and should be treated as such.

    MAWI would be better.

    • Tommy Chong says:

MAWI?!?!?!? So that in 2 years he’ll be on day release. If you feel sorry for him maybe you can visit him up at westgate in a school uniform & a propellor hat. That should cheer him & the rest of his new buddies up as well.

      • all clogged up says:

Tommy the sorrow is that he went so low to involve children in his warped behavior. Not sorrow for him as a man, everyone has to face the music for every bad choice we make, not just the criminal choices. Denis knew what he was doing was wrong, but he didn’t get help, that’s the said part.

      • Lissa says:

Yeah Rummy – you put on your school clothes and go visit him.

    • donna says:

You feel sorry for this man. Are you for real?

    • YES MATE! says:

Hey Dummy how do you feel about the victim? Do you also feel sorry for murderers, thieves and crack dealers?

    • Politely Pompous says:

I don’t buy that disease crap. Pedophiles are the most dangerous type of sexual deviant because they cannot be cured. Furthermore, pedophiles who have served time for their crimes and then released are even more dangerous since they fear being locked up again but still crave young victims. Therefore, they are more likely to MURDER their young victim so the child can’t report it-they get rid of the only witness to the crime to avoid going back to jail…

These monsters get no sympathy from me. They know what they are doing is wrong yet do it anyway just to satisfy their sick, selfish desires. If I had my way, they’d be castrated and locked away forever.

      • get a clue says:

If your’re going to talk like you know then at least get the facts straight!!

There are two kinds of pedophiles; groomers (Dennis) and grabbers. Groomers do exactly that. They groom their victims and in their twisted way of thinking believe that they are in a relationship with their victim. The last thing they would do is MURDER them as they see the victim as their partner. Groomers dont just up and molest a child, it is a process and by the time the actual assault happens they have persuaded and made the child believe that they are “friends” and have built up a great deal of trust with the child. Grabbers are the pedophiles that grab children up off the street (and any other place that has children) simply because of a sexual urge. These are the ones that will murder but not after release from prison, it is to avoid going to prison. Grabbers often times are not caught because they dont leave behind a witness in the first place.

And F.Y.I. pedophiles are no more dangerous then rapist or any other sexual deviant. They are all dangerous because they commit the crime for the thrill or rush they get rather then the actual sexual act. And they will out be released and do they same thing. All criminals “know that what they are doing is wrong yet do it anyway just to satisfy their sick, selfish desires”. I do not condone this man’s actions nor the actions of any pedophile I’m simply stating the facts
I pray that his victim gets the help needed to get past this horrible incident.

  18. victim says:

Let these wanna be thugs use them as target practice, maybe they will stop shooting each other, and kill these WORTHLESS NASTY WEAK DISTURBED CRAZY SCUM-BAGS!!!!I HATE EM ALL … SHOULDNT EVEN WASTE OUR TIME GIVING THEM A TRIAL!!!! *i know its not the “right” way but i WISH it was. That lil boy will NEVER forget what he’s been through and all the counselling/praying/family/friends in the world cant change it!!!

  19. The Hell!! says:

10 years that’s all should have been 25 or more. Turn him over to the child’s relatives now that would be justice…

  20. Nothing but the truth says:

Omg another one and only 10 years wtf where is the justice?

  21. Hmmm says:

I guess if you are gonna sexually assault someone, make sure its a minor so you only get 10 years. If its an adult they’ll throw you away for 16! Something doesn’t quite add up.

    • Mad Dawg says:

Well, there was a case in September 2011 when the guy got found guilty and got a 2 year SUSPENDED sentence. Similar case to this one. Molesting a young boy in his care.

Not even a custodial sentence. He’s out on the streets now.

      Ridiculous.

  22. ABC says:

    6 years for marijuana crazy

    DOES JUDGES R FOLLOWIN ORDERS

    NOW JUDGES SHOULD EMAILS …………..

ENOUGH OF DE MARIJUANA WEN U GOT A GUY LIKE DIS 10 YEARS

    R U SERIOUS ?

let de truth be told ;;))))

  23. united says:

He is a very lucky man not to end up in a U.S. prison. And to give him 10 years?! You have got to be kidding.

  24. Katie says:

I always thought there was something not right about this guy………

  25. Computer Guy says:

Holy Crap! I did some work with that guy. He was a real cool dude too…geez….makes you think, you don’t know who/what you are dealing with on a daily basis. Be careful folks..

  26. amen says:

Gosh he even looks like a creeper! How did he gain access to this boy in the boys own home? Where were his parents while this went on? He was molested as a child, does it to another child and lord knows what will become of this child when he grows up. Which is why these judges need to hand down HEAVY sentences! 10 years and he’ll be out in half that time. Makes me sick how governments don’t do more to stop these sickos! Justice Greaves gave that other freak 16 years and this pervert 10 years when he molested a child under 10? What’s wrong here? We don’t need a sexual offenders registry because sexual offenders need life sentences, they CAN NOT be rehabilitated! Why don’t they idiotic courts/judges/governments understand this? Men specifically, who are sexually abused are highly likely to do it to other children when they grow up. Men turn their pain onto others while women who are abused take it out on themselves. These are proven studies! Wake up Bermuda!

    • Chaos says:

He was, despite his ‘creeper’ looks, a social and well liked guy. He was a trusted friend to this family. Don’t tell me (if you have children) that you have never used a babysitter, or asked a friend to look after your child(ren)? It is mentioned in one of the news articles that one instance was when the mother took 5 minutes to get the car… it’s unfortunate, but usually it is the case of it being someone known and trusted. But the boy’s family figured things out pretty quickly, and have done/are doing everything they can to minimise the damage this sick man has done to their child and family.

      • Tommy Chong says:

Rule #1 in parenting. Never let a male take care of your child no matter if your child is a boy or girl unless its your husband. Not saying that all males are potential molesters or that there are not female molesters it just greatly reduces the chances. This is not a sexist statement just a statistical one.

        • CAT says:

I totally agree with you!!! I have 3 kids and I do not trust anyone!! Not even grandpa’s!!! Thats just what it is!

          • Chaos says:

Do you all mean to tell me that you somehow manage to be with your kids to supervise all their interactions all the time?
What about school teachers, PE teachers, sports coaches, music teachers, sunday school classes, youth group and summer camp leaders? Do you let your children go to play at their friends’ houses? Have you never been at a family gathering or church and lost sight of one of your children for even a minute? How long do you think it actually takes to ‘inappropriately touch’ a child?

  27. He should have life because he destroyed this boy. And I hope its not my relative. When did his simple parents notice this. You wonder why these youth have so much hate and want to kill. I bet the sick ass authorities are going to protect this dirty dog in prison.

    • Chaos says:

His ‘simple’ parents? Do you have any idea what his ‘simple’ parents have gone through? They let their child spend time with a trusted friend, never imagining something like this would happen! And because they know their child so well, because they have such a good relationship with their son, they found out pretty quickly actually (things like this can go on on for years and years undetected). And despite him being a trusted friend, they never disbelieved their son. And the courage it took them to go to the police? So that not only would this man not hurt their child again, but couldn’t hurt anyone else? I have so much respect for this ‘simple’ family and their bravery!

      • Pastor Syl says:

@ Chaos: Hear, hear! My deepest sympathies to parents and child. Thank God for a good relationship with the child and the unwillingness to sweep it under the rug, or tell the child to “get over it,” which many Bermudian families have done. I know whereof I speak!

Although it hasn’t come up in this thread, please note, most male child molesters, whether of male or female children, classify themselves as heterosexual.

    • SJ Taylor says:

Part of what these predators do is to make sure they have the parents’ trust BEFORE they do anything.

It’s so easy to accuse the parents as if they would put their child in harm’s way intentionally – clearly you have never been in this situation.

I couldn’t even image having to hear my child tell me this happened to them at the hands of someone I had come to trust.

Some people actually end up brushing these events under the carpet because they are embarrassed to come forward due to their feelings of guilt while at the same time knowing they did nothing wrong other than trust someone. Bear in mind that more often than not perpetrators of these crimes are friends or family members.

This family was brave to defend their child and bring attention to this man’s horrible behavior while risking being ridiculed by the public as per your comment.

  28. Tisk Tisk says:

All I can say is he’s lucky it wasn’t my child cause I would have blood on my hands

  29. CYGNET says:

News said this nasty bastard was molested from a young age to his teenage years by his Mother. If his mother is living she needs to be locked up too. Most of these sickos have been molested and then carry out the acts as a learned behaviour. NOT ACCEPTABLE. I hope an order was made that the young boy get counselling as wells as his parents and siblings. I pray the victim can be helped and live a good productive life. I would go jail if anybody poked off or even said something out of order on my children. They would find the bastard castrated.

    • Politely Pompous says:

I thought they said his ‘mother’ on the news but I thought I was hearing things and maybe they said ‘brother.’ That is beyond sick! I agree-she should be named, shamed and thrown in prison, too! SICK, SICK, SICK!!!

  30. USMM says:

All the brothaz up westgate gonna be so happy they got some fresh meat haha.

Hopefully they take good care of him

  31. horndawg says:

man, hard core loser, pretty sad….just as sad is half the people commenting on here who are outraged reading this are probably listening to their hero michael jackson at the same time….some people bring their snorkle and fins when they visit bermuda, MJ brings a little boy

  32. Angry Mother says:

We need to protect our innocent children from these individuals and I think the only way is a public register so that these individuals are kept in check. Heaven help one of them if they touched my child!

  33. Real Talk (original) says:

10 years? A man sexually assaults a grown woman and gets 16 years but a self-confessed pedophile who was ‘glad he got arrested because he was on the path to a serious sex attack against a child’ get 10? Something is seriously wrong with this picture.

Lock him up and throw away the key. Past abuse is not a ‘mitigating factor’ IMHO, all the more reason why one should know better.

    • Mayan says:

I don’t see that just because the other victim was a grown woman that it should mean any less. Not taking away from what happened to the child but the woman was firstly kidnapped and then held against her will. She was terrorized and very horrible sexual things done to her and then the attempted rape happened. She was threatened with murder and then the perp was going to rob her to boot. It wasn’t just the sexual assault-it was the kidnapping, death threats, being held hostage, etc. etc. Furthermore, if the Police didn’t show up, he very well could have taken her somewhere and murdered her.

With the child it was still serious and of course he will be traumatized as well but the other factors involving the ‘grown woman’ didn’t come into play. I think if he had randomly snatched the boy off the streets and did this, he would have gotten more time because the DPP would have been able to level more charges against him. People have to remember that-when the DPP is able to bring more charges, that can mean more time if the judge gives the maximum for each.

The bottom line is that the judge has to look at how dangerous the perp is to society. THINK ABOUT IT-despite the fact that the child molester did a very bad thing, the other man (Taylor)is a far bigger threat to society and deserves a longer sentence…

  34. jr says:

he needs jesus in his life

    • Tommy Chong says:

There’s Catholic priest who supposedly have Jesus in there life. Enough said.

  35. Cedar Beams (Original) says:

This man has done a huge amount of damage to many people. Ten years is clearly not enough – but I doubt he will serve it all. He won’t survive that long. Prisoners hate child molestors more than any other type of prisoner. He’ll get what’s due to him.

  36. jm says:

Please don’t get me wrong, I think what he did was reprehensible. I have a daughter, and I cannot imagine something like this happening to her. I also feel that his punishment is insufficient. But those of you commenting on this article that condone prison rape as an acceptable social norm and a viable form of retribution, please stop and think about it before you make those kind of comments. In today’s culture, and especially Bermuda (and often throughout any Bernews article of this nature), rape seems to be an acceptable thing wish upon someone and to joke about -provided that person is in prison. “Once you are in Westgate, sure, go ahead and rape whoever or get raped by whomever because if you are in Westgate you must be guilty of something and therefore we are no longer concerned about your rights and well-being as a Bermudian / human being”. We abolished the death penalty. There is no more capital punishment. Please as a society can we learn that any form of unwanted sexual contact, under whatever roof it may occur, is completely and totally unacceptable and not even something that we should wish upon our worst enemy. As I said, I wish a much harsher sentence upon offenders of this type and desperately feel that Bermuda is in need of a permanent offender registry. But please, rape is never acceptable under any circumstances.

    • Tommy Chong says:

Don’t get me wrong either because I don’t condone prison rape but its a reality. Even though I don’t condone this reality I’d rather it happen to this guy than some 19 year old in prison for a quarter of weed.

      • all clogged up says:

TC you’re an idiot as are many who think animal behavior is accepted behind prison walls…..remember these very same prisoners that you and others wish to rape and stab and steal and reak havoc behind bars must get released sooner rather than later. Do you think they will look for only ex-cons to commit crime against?

Shameful but judging by the comments on this story most bermudians think its ok for crime to be committed in prison.

        • Tommy Chong says:

UM! Didn’t you read the part where I typed I don’t condone prison rape but its a reality. Its called karma & as I typed before I’d rather it come back to someone who deserves it & this guy does then someone who’s punishment doesn’t fit the crime. Making prison NICE has not worked for us at all in Bermuda. There’s some who don’t deserve what happens top them in prison but this guy is not one of them & there’s more that prison should be harsher for.

    • Pastor Syl says:

@ jm: We live in a society that clearly views sex as a punishment. I have heard males comment about a female they didn’t like “she needs a good f….!”. How do we change it? I don’t know. Men need to educate men – most of them don’t listen to women.

  37. Triangle Drifter says:

10 years really means out in 5 with good behaviour. Then what? He disappears back into society.

Some time ago somebody posted a link of how it is done in the US. Their names are listed, the offence given & the address can be seen on a mapquest map.

One really has to wonder why the resistance to similar legislation here to make these creeps known.

    • Lissa says:

I will tell you why. Because of people like ‘Q’.!!
thats why we dont have the legislation…

Chilling. Memories of Connie Furtardo come to mind. This ‘perve’ by his own admission was on his way to doing worse if he had not be arrested. I shudder to think what ‘worse’ would have been.

    • Tommy Chong says:

You think thats bad there used to be a molester named ES in Bermuda. He would escape from casemates on the regular & nobody knew how. Once he swam to one of the private islands & crept up to someone in a sleeping bag in the house’s living room. Luckily the person in the sleeping bag turned out to be a grown man & not a child. The man woke up startled & beat the living daylights out of E.

  39. compassion says:

I don’t understand why he only got 10 yeas and the other day the guy who assaulted lady on Southshore received 16 years. He should have received 16 years as well.

  40. amen says:

    @Chaos

This happened over a 3 year almost 4 year period. So again how did he get access to this boy in his own home? It didn’t just happen one time while the mother went to get her car and in 5 minutes at that. I don’t believe that. Like Tommy Chong said you never leave your children-male or female alone with a male. Family friend, relative or not. The only person I was ever left alone with as a child was my father. Who trusts a male, seemingly single friend to watch their child? Was he married? Did he have a girlfriend? Did he have his own kids? I don’t have children but when I was young my mother NEVER let a “trusted” male friend of the family watch me. That’s just absurd! Yes I had a babysitter, my grandmother!

    • Shame says:

He’s a music teacher idiot you ever thought for a second that maybe the kid was getting a lesson. But for whatever reason he was over there, does it really matter? The parents are in no way responsible for what happened and shame on you for insinuating it.

      • Mayan says:

While we shouldn’t attack the parents we have to get real here. Some people are just too naive and trusting. There have been times when pedos have volunteered to babysit kids, take them on outings, etc. and the parents think ‘he’s so generous and sweet!’ and just go on their merry way. Parents need to question motives-especially if a grown man with no kids of his own is eager to spend time with yours. Even if you do take them up on their offer, show up before he expects you back to see if everything is kosher. Don’t just go on your merry way naively trusting that your kid is safe with that ‘family friend.’

Kids don’t know any better-we as adults should; our kids rely on us to be sensible and have good judgement. This isn’t meant to bash anyone-it’s just a cold, hard fact of life that some people end up as victims due to their lack of good, old-fashioned COMMON SENSE. I hope they learned a valuable lesson here so it doesn’t happen again.

    • Chaos says:

No, it did not happen ‘just one time’, if you read the full articles in the paper, it was reported as happening 5 times. That was one example of one of the occassions. And, yes, as the boy was ‘fondled/touched’ rather than anything more horrible than that, it could easily have happened within 5 minutes. As I said before, how long do you think it takes to molest a child? All it would take is one parent being out and the other going to use the bathroom, for example, while Dennis was visiting…. He was, as far as I understand, never a babysitter, but it’s not hard to be alone in another room with a child – on Christmas day my niece dragged me into her bedroom to show me all her presents, and no one thought anything of it, and wouldn’t have done if she had done the same with her uncle.

You (in general, not you personally) cannot protect your children from everyone all of the time. So they made a mistake in trusting Dennis… They also brought up their child to trust in them and tell them what was happening, and when he did, they trusted him. Trust is not always a bad thing…

  41. Kim Smith says:

The sexual abuse of children is in the news so frequently and yet there has been no progress in getting a sexual predators’ registry in place. I would like to think that one of the private organisations that work with children would be willing to make some form of opportunity for anyone who has been sexually abused to be counted, anonymously or otherwise. I fear this practice is rampant, and been going on for a very long time… and, relatively speaking, we are doing nothing!

  42. R U Serious? says:

I shudder to think of the filthy stuff this ‘man’ was looking at on his computer (and we were only told of a few examples) – what a sick world we live in! Not nearly enough time!!!
