Why didn’t we up the taxes on alcohol?? I could write a book on how alcohol has negatively impacted this island. This is truly the elephant in the middle of the room that no-one wants to admit is there.

I agree,I can write a book on how it has negatively impacted my family. The stuff is deadly and should be illegal or at least hard to get.

  2. FREDDY G says:

Alcohol is a DANGER TO EVERY COMMUNITY ! South Carolina has truly been bitten ………….

  3. Man in the Mirror says:

Take a wild wild guess. Look at the family NAME of the biggest alcohol supplier on the island.
And maybe its because a certain segment of the community is still in denial when it comes to alcohol.
When my children used to visit certain friends it was common for the children to have a sip ( wink, wink ) during dinner.

  4. True Bermudian says:

Alcohol kills thousands every year, destroys families and causes violence and anger on a mass scale around the globe.

Cannabis is a non harmful medical plant which has been proven to be non addictive, a non gateway drug, isn’t bad for the lungs, does not cause violence or anger and has no history of ever being the cause of death for anything. A recent study even proved suicide is down 11% in states and provinces where it’s legal or medicinally available.

Stop making true medicine illegal while alcohol kills and maims thousands every year.

You might even be able to squeeze more tourists to Bermuda if cannabis was taxed and regulated. The city of Colorido made seven million dollars last year in cannabis permits alone not including taxes.
