End-to-End Seeking Charity Applications

October 4, 2012

The Bermuda End-to-End is looking for applicants from charities wishing to receive funds raised in its 2013 event.

The Catlin End-to-End – Bermuda’s largest charity fund-raiser – puts more than 2,500 dedicated and generous participants on the roads, waterways and trails of the island to raise money for local charities every year. And every year, about $250,000 has been given away.

“We have a formal application process for charities wishing to be considered recipients of our funds,” said Catlin End-to-End chair Anne Mello. “Successful applicants will be selected according to their benefit to the community, their ability to engender the support and enthusiasm of our fundraising participants, and their proven record of spending donations wisely and responsibly.”

Water stop during last year’s End-to-End walk:

“It is heartening to see more participants than ever have supported our event, even as the economy has declined,” Mrs. Mello added. “But at the same time the economic downturn means less money raised. We therefore have to ensure the charities we support are addressing the most urgent needs in the community.”

Registered charities wishing to be considered for funding from the May 4, 2013 event should submit a confidential application providing detailed information about the organization, the project or programme to be funded, and its impact on the community.

Recipient charities must be non-political and not related to a religious group or sect, and must support local charities doing work in Bermuda. Applications can be sent electronically or delivered in person but must be received at the End-to-End mailbox by Wednesday, November 7 at 5:00 p.m.

Application forms can be downloaded from the Bermuda End-to-End website under the Charity section. Charities requiring further assistance cancall the End-to-End hotline at 292-6992.

The Catlin End-to-End’s mission is to be Bermuda’s premier annual charitable pledge event, committed to promoting the happiness and well-being of our island community through all inclusive activities.
