I do hope this lady will make a full recovery… although she will never be the same! Dear God tell me that the police will press charges against the beast who did this to her even if she won’t?

  2. outkasted says:

I heard the screaming last night too… I hope she is ok. According to news report they may have culprit in custody.

  3. Leo says:

Yes, they DO have someone in custody-a friend of mine was one of the cops who brought him in. The scumbag had the nerve to be in bed about to get a good night’s sleep after just stabbing a poor woman and leaving her for dead. Yeah, he didn’t see that coming and had himself a bed in jail instead.

    • Um juss sayin says:

@ Leo: some things are best left unsaid!! If one of the arresting officers is indeed a friend of yours, and the information you provided is correct, being “in the know” often times does more harm than good… I sure hope your big mouth officer friend realises his big mouth is passing on information to other big mouths!!

I pray for this young woman’s speedy and healthy recovery.

      • Leo says:

Uh-if you’re referring to sub judice, what I’ve said doesn’t fall under that. So someone was arrested while in bed…that doesn’t say anything! People are arrested while sleeping, eating…whatever. Sub judice would be if I claimed my friend said the guy confessed to the police or they found the weapon there or something like that…I didn’t say anything remotely like that so come off your high horse. The detail I gave doesn’t reflect the guy’s innocence or guilt whatsoever.

This is Bermuda-people talk…it’s a fact of life. I’m sure Bernews knows what to let through or what to censor.

      • Oh Please says:

@Um Juss sayin: You go to get your facts straight before blasting some one else, you loser.

      • Mayan says:

What the hell is wrong with what ‘Leo’ said? Good grief, Bermudians like Um Juss Sayin are slow. In the U.S. the media and public discuss these matters at length…it’s only in Bermuda that we get so super sensitive and fearful that general information will somehow ruin a case. So the alleged criminal was in bed, so? What if the poster said he was eating or walking down the street when arrested? Um please enlighten us as to how this is relevant to anything?

Regarding the victim, this makes me so angry. She’s a really nice lady and doesn’t bother anyone. These criminals need to go out there and work for what they want instead of attacking innocent people to take what THEY worked for!

      • Mother says:

At umm jus saying wow simply that is a he said she said bottom line even if he was get in bed geting shower at a local bar in a hammock in his back yard bottom line is he is off the street and behind bars and can only dream of what he planned on doing and is behind bars!!!

Looks like its not jus the young men going crazy seems like we all are 57 yrs old…

The Street are not getting HOTT THEY ARE HOT!!!! People please excercise your right to vote on Monday and Vote for the Person you know will and are doing whats good for this country not by Party or Race… ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

    • LeeLEE says:

As an officer involved in the arrest your police officer friend should not have shared any details with you regardless of whether it affects the outcome of a trial pr not. Police info is supposed to be confidential unless released by the police media relations offer.

      • Free says:

Oh please. All the cops, fire-firefighters, EMT’s(whatever they are called here) etc. TALK! That’s why people know about news before it hits the news.

      • Dee (Original) says:

You sound so silly. My former husband is a cop and sometimes they HAVE to talk to people about stuff. How else do you think they find out info if they don’t go around talking to people? Word on the street can be very crucial to solving cases, especially in a small island like ours. Furthermore, Leo said his friend was one of the arresting officers- he didn’t say his friend TOLD him anything. With people living in multi unit dwellings, Leo could have been the alleged perp’s neighbor and SEEN the arrest go down for all you know!!!!

      • Annie says:

LeeLee…please get a life. Like someelse else said, you’d be surprised how police get information just by having a conversation with people??? How the hell does saying the guy was in bed have any impact on anything at all? If someone said they caught the guy burying the weapon in his back yard, then that would be a different story! Geesh!

  4. youngster says:

wth is wrong with people now days what was the movtive for this shi* can Bermuda have peace ever again like gesh buh. everyone have to start watching their back and looking over their shoulder now days like pethatic crap.

  5. Oh Please says:

The victim is such a nice person. I hope they beat his a$$ while he’s in jail. Lowest scum on Earth. Get well soon girl!!

  6. Tisk says:

My Island home has really become a turn off. Who the heck is safe?

  7. tricks are for kids says:

Infirmation should be kept confidential until such time…..after all upon employment they do sign a confidentiality agreement…..IJS. ..

  8. Cousin says:

Hopefully, this lady will recover both mind and body.

@Leo and Myan, too bad you both missed the whole point its not what was said it is the fact that you quoted the source of the information and could get your cop friend in trouble; who should never have shared it anyway as confidentiality is something that they vow to uphold. Lets hope his Sgnt. doesn’t get wind of this. Silly.

    • Annie says:

@Cousin: Do you realize how silly you sound? Do you know how many police officers were there??? Second of all, they discuss all that stuff when they get back to the precinct so EVERYONE on duty will find out-even clerical staff. It would be really, really hard to pinpoint who told who what!

Good grief, I swear some people live in a cave-they have NO idea how things work.

  9. Lee Lee says:

@ dee you in fact sound silly. If the BPS service wanted the PUBLIC to know any information they would release it by the media relations officer. If the officer did infact provide Leo with those details he was breaking police confidentiality rules i am sure. I am also aware that police TALK to us in the streets to gather info and with Leo’s big mouth I am sure if he was a neighbor that had seen it all go down he would have said so. and Just because Officer, firemen etc talk don’t make it right.

  10. Lee Lee says:

and how many times do the police get it wrong. I guess they TALK to the wrong people.

    • Dee (Original) says:

People like you truly make me ill. Instead of criticizing, how about you SUPPORT our officers? While you’re home safe in your bed, they are out on the streets dealing with crap like this. Hope you never find yourself in the situation this poor woman did. I’ll bet you would have a greater appreciation then…

  11. Dee (Original) says:

@LeeLee…See Annie’s comment above yours. Get real about how the world works. I’m sure you have never seen a police officer’s contract or code of conduct guidelines so how would you know?!! I mean, in somes cases obviously they can’t go around blabbing people’s business, say in a domestic violence case or disclosing people’s health status (HIV, etc.) They also can’t disclose witness statements, etc. However, there was nothing about a confidentiality breach by saying the man was in his bed. It’s so funny you blasting the Police when you’re probably one of the biggest gossips around…Or one of those people who live to read the news just so you know everybody’s biz!!!

  12. Former Officer says:

LeeLee, you need a reality check. As someone that previously worked in the field, let me state that sometimes you need to talk just to eleviate some of the stress. Many a time I went home and told my husband things that went on at work (without naming names of course). Firefighters, Police, EMT’s etc see the worse of the worse on a daily basis- stuff so stomach turning most people wouldn’t be able to handle it without having a breakdown. It really irks me when I hear what people like you have to say. You probably wouldn’t last a day!!!!

  13. TJ says:

It is what it is people talk so stop acting brand new, no it doesn’t make it right but it is what it is.

I just hope this woman makes a speedy recovery.
