20-Year-Old Man Hospitalized After Collision

A 20-year-old Pembroke man is in hospital following a collision early this morning [Mar 27] on Middle Road in Devonshire.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 2:45am on Wednesday, March 27th police and first responders attended a reported serious single vehicle collision on Middle Road in Devonshire between Orange Valley Road and Tee Street.

“Details about how the collision occurred are unclear at this time. The vehicle involved, a white jeep, was found extensively damaged and a bus shelter in the area was also damaged.

“Two men, a 20 year old Pembroke man and a 21 year old Sandys parish man believed to be occupants of the jeep when the collision occurred, were injured and treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

“The Pembroke man remains at the hospital in stable condition. The Sandys parish man was subsequently discharged. There were no other injuries reported.

“Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses or anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the main police number on 295-0011.”

    A white ‘Jeep’ or a white SUV? I believe the vehicle involved was a white Kia Sportage as evident by the front bumper left at the scene with tag still attached. Also, whomever towed the car should be responsible for removing all the large vehicle parts that get strewn about.
