It’s “Swing” Time At The Daylesford Theatre

April 17, 2013

The Saltus Jazz Band has taken the lyrics of Duke Ellington’s timeless 1931 standard to heart for their forthcoming show — it won’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing.

The school band will be appearing for two nights next week at the Bermuda Musical & Dramatic Society [BMDS] Daylesford Theatre in a concert appropriately called present “Swing” when they will be performing Swing-era songs including “Someone To Watch Over Me” and “Stormy Weather.”

In addition to the band, singers including Debororah Raat, Samantha Tavares, Valerie Smith and Jennifer Osmond will be providing solo vocals.

The show will be held on Thursday, April 25 and Friday, April 26 starting at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchsed from the BMDS box office [tel. 292-0848] at the Daylesford Theatre on Washington Street from April 22-23 between 5.30-6.30 p.m. or on performance nights between 7-8 p.m.

They are also available online at www.bmds.bm until April 21.
