Photos: Father Daughter Dinner & Dance Evening

June 10, 2013

On Saturday night [June 8] fathers and their daughters enjoyed a special night out, as the first ever “Princess for a Day” father and daughter dinner was held at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess.

The event was hosted by Kings & Queens Production, with the concept behind the evening to strengthen father/daughter relationships and to honour fathers who are doing their part.

Guest speakers for the evening were Miss Bermuda Rochelle Minors, Miss Teen Bermuda Zaire Bean, Senator Diallo Rabain and Digicel CEO Wayne Caines whose daughter Maxii joined him in making an address.

The common theme of the speakers was the importance of a strong relationship between father and daughter and encouragement to strengthen those bonds every day.

The MC for the evening was Bermudian comedian Bootsie, and upon arrival each young lady was presented with a tiara. Entertainment throughout the evening included Dennis Fox on keyboards and Nadanja Bailey.

Daughters learned a little more about their fathers when they took part in the “How well do you know your father?” game. Questions asked included what primary school did your father attend, his favorite colour, favourite song and many others.

MC Bootsie asked random questions in an elimination process that saw Miss Bermuda Rochelle Minors and her father Marshall Minors win the game.

The evening was hailed a success by many who attended as the night came to a close with a “Soul Train’ style line dance. Fathers and daughters each received gifts at the end of the night with some men being honored with plaques for their outstanding roles as fathers.

Beautiful event! Lets have a Mother/Son Dinner/dance. Sons need to have a good relationship with their moms, learn how to treat them like a lady with respect and dignity.

They spoke of a Mother/Son breakfast that apparently took place last month. I am not sure as to who organised it but you are right. As we develop these positive relationships with our your people, they will be more guided in their decision making.

As I pass men I advise them if they do not have a daughter or God daughter for next year….Rent One!!

A soulfully rewarding evening. Thanks to all who organised and attended. Thanks also to Ham Princess staff for their service. Most of all, thanks to Regina for making me the proud father that I am!!!

It was a lovely event!!! But what is most needed is Father/Son. Mother /Son not as much. We have way too many moms out here that pamper their sons that’s why half of them are the way they are now!!!

Fantastic stuff. Nothing as beautiful as daddy’s little girl. The girls are the apples of our eyes, they are the most tender, sweet beings. Daughters honor your fathers and fathers likewise, the bond is a very strong bond and a most beautiful feeling.

  10. Prez says:

What is needed is father and son with no age limit. Let these younger “dance with their father”
