140 Dancers To Hit Stage In DanceSations Show

August 25, 2013

DanceSationsDanceSations will be hosting two performances of their 7th Annual Summer Dance Showcase on Saturday [Aug 31] in the Earl Cameron Theatre at City Hall in Hamilton at 2.00pm and 7.00pm.

The show will feature many styles of dance such as ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop and will include two all boy classes performing hip hop/break-dancing.

Approximately 140 dancers of all ages from 3-years-old to adult will be performing including DanceSations’ Junior Company and the showcase is expected to last approximately two hours. Tickets are $25 and available on www.dancesations.bm or bdatix.bm.

“Our show will feature the dancers’ creative expressions in many forms of dance”, DanceSations owner and teacher Holly Pacheco said. “Our annual summer dance showcase is a jam packed recital full of energy and surprises.

“This is our 7th annual summer recital. It feels like second nature. I am excited for the kids to show off their dances and energy levels.

“With our new studio we’ve been able to push our dancers creatively and I am very proud of their achievements. It’s exciting to see the development of our dancers to where they are right now.

“Our summer program runs for nine weeks and concludes with our show. The teachers and dancers have been working very hard in preparation for their performance.

“The show will feature a variety of dances including pieces choreographed by our amazing teachers, Sierra-Renae DeSilva, Dominique Willis, Shaydrina Hassel, Rikkai Scott, Arnario Shillingford, Jalesa Young, and myself.

“There will also be a piece by local and international choreographer Eric Bean Jr., founder of Jarrico Dance and also guest performances by the popular “Bermuda Squad”.

DanceSations has operated as a summer program for many years but finally opened their doors full time this past June at their new dance school located on Reid Street extension next to Island Trading which boasts two studios.

The new spacious facility offers a wide range of dance classes such as pre-ballet, ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hip-hop, boys hip hop/break-dancing and adult classes.

“We have had a warm response to our new facility”, Ms Pacheco said. “Parents and dancers are excited to see our school become full time this year and we look forward to growing our DanceSations’ family. Registration has already begun for our fall classes”.
