CellOne Launches New Home Internet Service

November 4, 2013

CellOne — best known for their phone services — has launched home internet services, with speeds starting at 2 Mbps and ranging up to 25 Mbps.

“It’s an exciting time for us to be providing home internet service to the people of Bermuda. Our competitive pricing and award winning customer service will now be extended into these new ISP offerings.” says Frank Amaral, CellOne CEO.

“Our customers will see an immediate savings when pairing their current postpaid service with our new ISP plans. We know customers will enjoy the benefits of getting multiple telecommunication services with one company.”

The new services being offered by local telecommunications companies were made possible due to the ICOL licences which were issued earlier this year.

Traditionally local companies have been licensed to operate in particular areas [TV, internet, mobile phones etc], however the ICOL licence allows the providers to pick and choose what they want to offer.

Full details on CellOne’s internet plans/pricing can be found here on their website.

  1. Charter says:

Prices still far too high for any reasonable speed.

    • George says:

$10 – $45 savings a month is still better than it was!

    • REAL TALK says:

if you actually looked and compared prices they are close to the same between cellone and logic but you save by combining cellphone and internet. Helps to look before just blabbing ya mouth

  2. Watcher55 says:

How about they get their crappy cell service to work properly before trying new things

    • To Be Real says:

Come on Digicel employee why be a hater? Just come on over from the dark side and join the Purple People….

  3. yesman says:

Why price 15Mb and 25mb the same price as all the other companies?

    • To Be Real says:

The non bundled prices are the same as the other carriers but there are discounts (up to $45/mth with the 25MBS plan) if you have any postpaid wireless service with them.

  4. Somebody's Momma says:

After asking Cellone if I could incur overage charges for data decided to leave my home internet where it is. I have wireless and unlimited use of the internet. I could end up saving the initial cost but end with data charges. Thought I could save a little using 1 provider but can’t risk it.

    • Soooooo says:

@ Somebody’s Momma.. I would call and speak to them again, as I read it there is no data limit on the home internet plans… If you do not presently have a smartphone then there is no real advantage for you in their offering.

    • Tough Love says:

I don’t think somebody’s old mama knows what she’s talking about. Maybe you have trouble understanding technology. You should ask your kids before you voice your opinions on something you don’t understand.

Internet is always unlimited. There are no data charges because it’s not a cellphone.

    • @Somebody’s Momma – I’m writing to you as an employee of CellOne for the benefit of everyone reading your comment. We would like to confirm that overages do not apply to home internet. If your request is for data on your phone, please note this falls under a different plan entirely. If you would like to contact us again, either in person or by phone for more details, we’ll be happy to go over the program with you. Our customer care department is available at 700.7000, 24 hours a day. The store you visited in town is open Mon – Sat 8am – 6pm. We hope this helps.
