Women’s Futsal League Weekend Results

The 2014 Women’s Futsal League season got underway inside the Warwick Academy Gymnasium with three matches on tap, with 31 goals scored in total.

Somerset Hurricanes 11 Young Men Social Club 0

Dazhja Greaves led the Somerset Hurricanes to victory scoring 5 times, while Eva Frazzoni added a hat-trick. Sierra Fisher, Kimika Jackson and Deshae Darrell all added a goal each.

The Somerset Hurricanes were too strong for a young Young Men Social Club side that struggled to cope with the Somerset Hurricanes direct play and passing. Sierra Fisher was the most outstanding player for the Somerset Hurricanes while Satyrah Robinson led Young Men Social Club.

Dandy Stars 7 Hamilton Parish 2

A convincing win for Dandy Stars, but Hamilton Parish never gave up and shut down the Dandy Stars in the second-half and scored 2 goals, much to the delight of the crowd.

Cleshaunae Darrell-Virgil, Shonte Campbell and Dazarre Place all scored two goals each for the Dandy Stars, while Jaelyn Bean added the other. Keisha Hollis and Tricia Lima scored a goal each for Hamilton Parish. Campbell was the Dandy Stars MVP and Carol Jackson was outstanding in goal for Hamilton Parish.

PHC Lady Zebras 6 Footy Force Stars 5

In the match of the evening, defending champions PHC raced ahead early and led 4 to 2 at half-time. Footy reorganized in the second-half and fans were treated to a thrilling, end to end match. PHC pulled out the win right at the end with Micah Pond having to make a number of crucial saves for PHC. Aaliyah Nolan was outstanding for PHC and Cheyra Bell was equally outstanding for Footy Force Stars.

Nolan led the Lady Zebras to victory with a hat-trick, Symira Lowe-Darrell scored twice and Taznae Fubler added the other. Bell scored a hat-trick for the Footy Force Stars, with Zara Gibbons and Jahziyah Samuels both adding a goal each.

The games continue next week Saturday at 5pm at the Warwick Academy Gym.
