Personally, I think that BELCo does a pretty good job. Let’s be honest, all things considered, they rarely have service interruption (which is good considering the high cost for electricity) plus they can’t change for there periods the power is out for.

Unlike Cablevision; good lord, they are as expensive and don’t give you discounts when your service goes out.

You should live in my old neighbourhood. If someone sneezed to hard the power goes out…

BELCO, tell me again why you shouldn’t put all your wires underground. Yes repairs would cost more, but there would be less of them.

    • YADON says:

Belco’s entire transmission network is underground. It would literally be a billion dollar project to underground the entire distribution network. This would not stop outages, what it would do is ensure that every fault that occurred would take more than 8 hours to repair. An underground cable fault must be located ( think how hard that is compared to overhead as you can not see the cable) excavated then jointed that all equals a lot of time and money. Are you wiling to eat these costs and time constraints ?
