Burnt House Captures Cliff Diving Gone Wrong

June 12, 2014

The talented team from Bermuda’s Burnt House Productions is well known for their videos depicting extreme sports, but sometimes being on the scene with a camera in hand leads to unexpected results, as evidenced by the two most recently released videos from the group.

Cliff jumping has long been a particular focus for Burnt House, with their popular “Falling Off the Rock” series and related cliff diving videos earning over one million views on YouTube in the past few years.

Described on the channel as “Burnt House Productions shooting at the right place at the wrong time,” the first of the team’s new videos shows a man preparing to jump off of a cliff into the water below.

While the peaceful scene seems prime for exactly the kind of action Burnt House was looking to capture, the jumper catches his foot on a bush as he leaps, sending him spiraling downward, narrowly missing an outcropping of rock before he hits the water.

The Burnt House team also managed to capture a near collision between a cliff jumper and a windsurfer, with the video evidence of the close encounter garnering nearly 400,000 views in less than one month.

As a man leaps from a 45-foot cliff, a windsurfer unexpectedly comes onto the scene, making for a dramatic scene that sees the jumper miss the windsurfer’s board and sail by mere feet.

With their videos eventually capturing international attention, Burnt House has gone on to shoot a variety of extreme sports videos, including the very memorable South African bungee cliff jump filmed for EpicTV.

As granny said, it’s all fun until someone looses their eye. In this case someone WILL find themselves dead or in a wheel chair if they keep this foolishness up. And when it does happen, all the retards will be saying “how could this happen”.

  2. Truth is killin' me... says:

These guys are young and dumb…we all were at one stage of our lives. Sometimes alcohol plays a part in the majority of these accidents. But hey…s*** happens and the only person they have to blame at the end of the day is themselves for being stupid. I enjoy the videos…they are amazing to watch…just look after yourselves and stay away from the emergency ward and neck braces!

  7. Free Thinker says:

Plan or no plan, that does not take away from the share bravery and athletic skills, it takes to do that. For those who thinks it dumb, lighten up and live some life. This ultra conservative, in the box, way of thinking is why Bermuda is in the state it’s in. Nothing is wrong with a little adventure and risk. It’s better to die enjoying life than live a long miserable life in fear.

    • Catherine DL says:

Yeah – you’ll definitely lighten up when you can’t eat cos you can no longer use your arms – this is paralysis type stuff – I’ve seen it happen. I agree – die, but paralysis – it ain’t worth it!

  8. casanova says:

  9. Bri says:

To FreeThinker – the problem isn’t those who die, it’s those who live tripped in a wheelchair with severe physical or mental handicap and regret their actions every day of their life !
