Identity Of Mummified Baby Remains Unknown
Over a month after a baby’s remains were found by a grave site in Hamilton Parish officials are still working to confirm the baby’s identity.
On May 9th a landscaper discovered the remains of a baby in the area of Trinity Church Road in Hamilton Parish.
At that time the Police said the remains were of a baby boy in a “mummified condition, fully disinterred and appears to have a medical band of some type around his wrist.”
The police also added that in recent weeks there has been extensive maintenance carried out at this particular grave site resulting in a number of tombs being refurbished.
Speaking yesterday, a police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service is still working with King Edward VII Memorial Hospital as well as church officials to find out the identity of the child whose remains were found on Friday, May 9th near to a grave site on Trinity Church Road in Hamilton parish.
“This is a delicate matter and as previously stated, foul play is not suspected.”

Find it very disturbing and disrespectful this poor child’s body was left and forgotten behind a wall. Even more disturbing the church seemingly has no records it can pull up and identify who it is.
How is it even possible for the persons repairing the graves to simply toss a disinterred body over a wall and forget it? I’d like to think there’s some proper process for dealing with such sensitive things.

Was the baby placed there afterwards,did the parents or guardian just take the baby there?There are many possibilities….keep your minds open ,timeline the wrist id…
It may be this child passed from shaking too violently….and that the church has no record…and the person saw an “opportunity”,for placement….I the child perished and it was not reported this could be the senario….look at age ,carbon date or however a time line needs to be established….then of course birth records look at inception through interference as well…
The “plot”,thickens…
Look at birthrecords of all that proximity and or from this church paronage,a lot of footwork and time consuming,that is why good policeman wok 24-7….all ways working ,the reward can be promotion and pay raise …because you only get paid for the hours your on the clock….but if you know …you know….24-7…
