Motor Tanker Diverts To Transfer Sick Crewmen

The motor tanker ‘Alpine Legend’ diverted to the island yesterday afternoon  [June 1] to disembark two sick crewmen.

Pilot boat St David rendezvoused with the 183 metre long vessel off St David’s at approximately 4pm and transferred the sick crewmen to Ordnance Island where they were met by an attending ambulance which transported the pair to King Edward Memorial Hospital.

After the successful transfer, the tanker continued on its journey to Charleston, USA.
